Desert, Sea & Fun

Here, travellers from all corners of the world enjoy the diversity of taking part in a long roster of activities, such as scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, whale watching, world-class golf, exceptional fine dining, tranquil spa treatments, and active nightlife, but the most popular activity is to simply linger during a lazy day at the beach or by the pool.

Practical Information

Water

All major hotels, restaurants & luxury homes have purified water. This means that yes, you can drink from the tap, but confirm with your staff or property manager. The water supply comes from our area mountains, filters through natural sand beds, before entering the modern aqueduct for distribution. Many resorts desalinate and purify their own water on property. We still recommend drinking bottled water as the taste is more familiar.

Banks

Los Cabos is host to all major Mexican National Banks. For convenience there are many locations that have ATM's. These machines accept US bank cards in the same manner as they do in your country.

Currency

The Mexican Peso is the currency of Mexico (Moneda Nacional MN) and the exchange rate fluctuates daily. You can easily exchange currency at the airport, hotel, or any bank. We recommend keeping your money in dollars exchanging as needed. Through Lifestyle we are able to cash your US checks with a 4% cashing fee & are also available to exchange money for you while you are here.

Communications

International communication outside of Mexico is easier than ever, however, it can be quite costly. It is less costly to call collect or use a calling card. Los Cabos is compatible for cellular phone usage as well, and it is suggested you check with your carrier to inquire as to their requirements for making and receiving calls in Mexico. The preferred courier service is DHL, which is faster and reliable. Cellular phones are available for rent through our offices.

Medical Care

The area has modern, well-equipped and staffed facilities. Air evacuation services are available.

Time

Los Cabos is located in the Mountain Time Zone.

Language

Spanish is the official language; however, English is spoken in most stores, hotels and tourist areas.
