Los Cabos is a multifaceted destination that never ceases to amaze with its wide variety of outdoor activities. The stable climate allows for absolute enjoyment at any time of year. The sun and pleasant temperatures allow us to recommend three recreational activities that will leave you wanting more.
We all know that the ocean is one of the wonders of this destination, and no one can come to Los Cabos without diving into the sea to enjoy its waves and all the marine life it offers. That’s why, on this occasion, we recommend one of the most visited snorkeling spots, allowing you to see many species of fish of various colors and sizes. Roca El Pelícano, next to the well-known Desaladora Beach, is one of the most popular and visited areas by tourists and locals. Just next to the iconic Cabo San Lucas Arch, we can enjoy an afternoon surrounded by beautiful fish while snorkeling, or scuba diving for the more adventurous.
We can’t forget to mention Beach Santa María and Bahía El Chileno, two of the safest and most beautiful beaches for this popular activity. All services are available, so you can take home a beautiful memory of swimming alongside the marine life that is so prominent in our destination.
And if you’re one of those people who like to take a little more risk, then we have an option that you’ll enjoy uniquely. You’ll have the chance to visit the summit of the emblematic Cerro Vigia, where the Arch of Cabo San Lucas is located. This trek, which is popular with many tourists and locals, has the unique advantage of being guided by a professional who not only provides scientific information about the place but also transmits knowledge that goes beyond sensations, understanding that we are all connected to the vibrations of the earth, and this is, in fact, one of the most incredible energetic points on the peninsula. The tour and the company will leave you completely in love with the place.
These tours have set times and days. While there is no fixed cost, the entrance to this trek is within a privately controlled property. Your tour begins before dawn so you can reach the summit and contemplate the immense beauty of the sunrise between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Not only will you be able to glimpse such beauty, but you will also be able to take a few minutes to feel grateful for being in front of a place called Land’s End, as it is the southernmost tip of the California Peninsula, the last point on land in a straight line to Antarctica.
We cannot leave out of these tours the wonder of visiting the oasis areas, one of the most exquisite places, when we find ourselves in a desert like Baja California Sur. There, we immerse ourselves in the fresh air and the refuge of hundreds of animals that use them as shelter.
Oases are ecosystems that serve as refuges for many migratory and traveling animals. Small settlements are often built there, and for many of them, they are a small paradise. Baja California Sur has oases of splendor and beauty worthy of admiration. Combining a desert landscape, cacti, turquoise sea, and these oases creates a living picture for anyone lucky enough to admire them.
Due to their distribution, they represent less than 1% of Baja California Sur territory. What’s peculiar is that one can find endemic species within these oases that could not survive outside the oasis area. This means it’s vitally important to keep each of these bodies of water intact, not degrading them or subjecting them to pollution stress, as valuable species of both flora and fauna would be seriously affected.
It’s essential to remember that these are extremely fragile ecosystems due to their size, which ranges between 0.05 and 2.7 km2. While BCS has a significant number of oases, 171 in total, some are more recognized due to their size and surrounding areas.
Very close to Los Cabos, we find one of the most visited in Miraflores. Just 78 kilometers away from Cabo San Lucas, you can access a beautiful view of this oasis that will invite you to reflect on the importance of keeping these small ecosystems safe for the species that need them so much and maintaining the biodiversity of our planet healthy. You can also find (private) kayaking opportunities to explore the waters, renting them at one of the local orchards called Huerta La Palma.
Continuing to enjoy the natural beauty of our beloved destination freely, without rushing or distractions, makes the sensations we experience throughout the day truly vibrant. We value the planet we live on, respectfully sharing our space with all the living beings around us.
LIFESTYLE is at your disposal to accommodate any activity you wish to pursue. All you have to do is choose, and we’ll make sure everything is fun and enjoyable.
